I work for a company that specializes in family-owned businesses. We have used D&B Hoovers for years to help find prospects in our focused areas.
I keep running into an issue when running lists for privately-held, parent companies. Non--profits, municipalities, BOE, non-privately held companies are showing in the results and they aren’t true privately-held businesses.
We run these lists by annual revenue, entity type, and narrow it down by area code for each state we work in.
Is there a better way to find these companies? I’m at a loss and don’t want to keep getting results like hospitals, boards of education, non-profits, etc.
